Dr Simon Pirani

Dr Simon Pirani is a Senior Research Fellow on the Natural Gas Research Programme at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. He is editor and co-author of Russian and CIS Gas Markets and Their Impact on Europe (Oxford University Press, 2009), and author of Ukraine’s Gas Sector (OIES, 2007) and other research papers on the Russian and Ukrainian gas sector. Before joining the Institute, Dr Pirani wrote about the economy, energy issues and politics in Russia and Ukraine for many years as a journalist.
